Very well put! It's a fascinating idea that Pride becomes its own downfall. Pride can perhaps elevate us for a brief time, but no matter what, our own Pride will inevitably drag us back down.

Thanks, and very true! This is the ancient and very persistent argument about morals and vices, that they might give you a temporary, short-term "win", but on the medium and long term, they are tremendously destructive forces for oneself, for people around you, and for societies and cultures as well. And virtues are the opposite!

It's there in all of us, I think. It's a beast. You need something to offset it with, or rein it it with, or else it will probably indeed Pull You Back In!!
